Turning to White is a Screenwest funded short filmbased on the true story of Tony Sarre as a young, legally blind hitchhiker, coming to terms with his disability. While thematically the text deals with the culture of disability, it also maintains this dialogue throughout its making.

 

Turning to White is a largely process-driven work in the way that it treats audio description during the pre-production stages; aligning the shot duration in congruence with the pacing of the audio description, and using audio description to intentionally elevate moments of tension rather than just describing them.
